Capnography & Gas Monitoring
Nomoline™ Adapter
No moisture sampling for extended monitoring of non-intubated patients
Advanced technology enables cost-effective, hassle-free sidestream capnography and gas measurements
- > Reduces disposable costs through:
- • Extended monitoring time in low- and high-humidity environments
- • Uses non-proprietary cannulas
- > Patented polymer allows water in the sampling line to evaporate into the surrounding air, while leaving oxygen, carbon dioxide, and anesthetic gas measurements unaffected and eliminating the need for a water trap and associated clogging
- > Hydrophobic bacterial filter designed to prevent cross-contamination and to protect module from bacteria and water intrusion
- > Designed for low sampling flow applications and to be functional in any patient position, to support use in a wide range of clinical applications and patient populationsn
How Nomoline Works
![](http://www.masimo.com/images/capnography/nomo-diagram.jpg)
Nomoline allows water in the sampling line to evaporate into the surrounding air, while leaving oxygen, carbon dioxide, and anesthetic gas measurements unaffected.
- Gas sample enters Nomoline adapter from patient breathing circuit and passes through the gas sample tube
- Nomo polymer absorbs water from the patient’s gas sample and evaporates it into surrounding air
- Gas sample is transported through the remaining sample tube and passes through the water/bacteria filter
- Gas sample enters the sidestream module where it is analyzed to accurately determine gas concentration
How Nomoline Works
The ISA™ module with Nomoline sampling lines connect to the Root® patient monitoring platform via Masimo Open Connect™ (MOC-9™) ports.

The ISA™ CO2 module for the Root® patient monitoring and connectivity platform provides flexible applications across the continuum of care
- > Displays end-tidal carbon dioxide (EtCO2) waveform and measurements and trends of EtCO2, fractional concentration of inspired carbon dioxide (FiCO2), and respiration rate (RR)
- > Appropriate for monitoring infant, pediatric, or adult patients in a range of hospital environments including the OR, ICU, and medical-surgical units
- > Saves time in critical situations with virtually no warm-up time and full accuracy performance in ten seconds
- > Supports quiet environment initiatives with no disturbing pump noises
- > Generally requires 50 ml/minute sampling flow to support patient monitoring
- > External module enables easy movement for use on multiple Root monitors
Nomoline™–No moisture sampling lines and non-proprietary cannulas
- > Reduces disposable costs through:
- • Extended monitoring time in low- and high-humidity environments
- • Use of non-proprietary cannulas
- > Revolutionary design eliminates the need for a water trap
- > Patented polymer allows water in the sampling line to evaporate into the surrounding air, while leaving oxygen, carbon dioxide, and anesthetic gases unaffected
- > Hydrophobic bacterial filter protects ISA analysers from water intrusion and cross-contamination
